Welcome to IS 10Q, Horace Greeley and the 2026–2027 school year! Whether you are returning to our school community or joining us for the first time, we are pleased to welcome you and look forward to partnering with you throughout the year. At TEN, we believe every child deserves to be known, supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed. Our vision is to create a school where students experience rigorous and meaningful learning, develop confidence in their abilities, take ownership of their progress, and feel a strong sense of belonging.
This year, we are committed to strengthening the instructional core so that every student has access to
high-quality and grade-level learning experiences. Our work will focus on three priorities: elevating Tier 1 instruction, using student data intentionally to guide instruction and responsive interventions, and strengthening relationships with students and families. Across classrooms, students will be expected to think deeply, ask questions, engage in academic discussion, explain their reasoning, use evidence, and take an active role in their learning.
An important part of this work will be our continued implementation of Leader in Me. Through Leader in Me, students will develop the habits, mindsets, and leadership skills needed to take greater responsibility for their learning, set goals, make thoughtful decisions, work effectively with others, and recognize that leadership begins with the choices they make each day. We want every student to understand that leadership is not simply a title; it is the ability to use their strengths, their voice, and their actions to make a positive difference. We also recognize that students grow at different rates and require different levels of support. Through ongoing assessment and progress monitoring, our staff will identify strengths and areas of need, provide timely interventions and enrichment, and work collaboratively to ensure that every student continues to grow academically, socially, and motionally.
Families are essential partners in this work. You know your children best, and we want you to feel welcomed, informed, heard, and connected to our school. Through consistent communication, family engagement opportunities, academic updates, and shared celebrations, we will continue strengthening the partnership between home and school.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being an important part of the TEN community.
We look forward to a year of learning, leadership, growth, and achievement as our students continue
to BEAR Witness to Excellence.
In Partnership,
Mrs. Rusmayris Guillermo, Principal
